Finding the IP address of my home network from the WAN.

When you are ON your network go to this URL:    http://checkip.dyndns.org/ <http://checkip.dyndns.org/>

To always be able to reach your home network when away you need to sign up for a
Dynamic DNS Address and be able to run their client 24x7 to keep your Dynamic DNS
name up to date with your home networks IP address.

The servers are often run by the router maker or sometimes free services.  If you have a registered domain name, they will let you connect by name and track the IP address as it changes.
