Bill,
Do you have your own router or are you using the Comcast router? Many routers support Dynamic DNS where they will periodically update their IP address to an online server. The servers are often run by the router maker or sometimes free services. If you have a registered domain name, they will let you connect by name and track the IP address as it changes. You might want to look into that.
