EssentialSSL is one of the many resellers of certificates issued by the Comodo
certificate authority. EssentialSSL certificates are normally $29, so $5.99 is
a good deal.

If you miss the sale there are other Comodo resellers to choose from:

  https://www.namecheap.com/security/ssl-certificates/comodo.aspx

That page also provides links to lists of resellers for other CAs.

I personally have several PositiveSSL certificates I got for $9. I've had
zero problems with them.

Note that these companies are trying to distinguish themselves through
various means, claiming among other things that there's name recognition
to be had from CA that issued your certificate. Frankly, I'm skeptical
that paying extra $$$ for an EV cert (that turns the lock green) is
worth it, let along paying $$$ for a "brand name" CA.
