[XTension] Control by Web spam

Hi James,

Address   00:0C:C8:05:76:CE.RELAY1  exists and is being used by a unit I have named "Well Pump Contactor”. It is Device Type register assigned to the ControlByWeb interface.  XTension created it when I first installed that WebRelay and I edited the name years ago.

Address 00:0C:C8:05:76:CE.VIN exists and is being used by a unit I have named "Voltage - Pump Control Relay”  It is Device The register assigned to the ControlByWeb interface.  XTension created it when I first installed that WebRelay and I edited the name years ago.

They both appear to show valid values “ON” for the Contactor and 12.3V for the VIN.

Please note I have copied/pasted the above addresses from the unit edit windows  in XTension.  I see no errant spaces or other oddities in their addresses.

If I understand your logic correctly, the interface is constantly looking for new Units while looking at the CBW device(s).  I haven’t made any changes in any of my CBW devices in ages.  XTension just seems to get it’s knickers in a knot every once in a while.

Maybe we are dealing with a network bandwidth issue when XTension is looking for units and creating them?  If you saw how my LAN is hacked together over this sprawl you’d shiver.  I can think of at least 2 CBW devices that communicate with XTension via at least 2 300Mbps wireless bridge CPE pairs (each) along with a half dozen switches and the router.  It’s really a mess - but it’s my mess.

I kind of like the “create new units checkbox” solution as the problem is infrequent and very local (only here).  I’m betting It is something I’m doing or not doing.  We really don’t need to send you down another rabbit hole.
