[XTension] Mac OS upgrade and xTension problem

I believe that the problems Dee Dee is having are related to changes in the OS allowing disk writes and such.

Going forward I recommend that everyone finally switch to the new, well 10+ year old, cruelness from Apple about where to put and run your applications. At some point you may have issues if you are running XTension outside of the Applications folder or in a folder inside the Applications folder. Apple generally considers any writing to something in the Applications folder to be something the user should have to authenticate for and that may sometimes apply to things inside folders there as well. This is a “suspicious” behavior because thats how an app might be being infected or something like that.

So for the future please put XTension inside the applications Folder, not in a folder there and not in other places on the disk as it was back in the classic days.

Then move your database and other support folders that used to be created along side the app into the XTension Support Folder that is created in your Documents folder.

After that it should always be able to find and write to the database no matter what else changes in the future. At some point I might have to move that folder to the Application Support folder as keeping permissions to write to the Documents folder between upgrades is also problematic but for now it seems to be working fine.
