These things do generate a lot of traffic, wow. I setup one ESPresence ESP32 device and it picks up a lot of phones and what not. Interesting. I'll have to solder some headers on so I can use the DHT temp/humidity sensors on the ESP32, too.
I saw an interesting use case for this stuff while researching. Apparently this guy has a houseful of teenagers and he setup ESPresence to detect who is putting in a load of wash. He also monitors the power of the washer/dryer and the motion of the washer/dryer door. He then sends just that teen a message when the load is finished. He continues to send that teen a message until the washer or dryer door is opened indicating that they removed the wash. When I read that, I was like wow, your teens do their own wash? Good for you! Haha.
