Amazon Alexa Access

Hi,

I currently have several ways to talk to Alexa:  iPhone app and several Alexa devices (e.g. an Echo Dot) around the house.

Does anyone know of a way to “talk” to Alexa from XTension running on a Mac?  By that I mean send a text string to Alexa and have Alexa act on it.  For example, I want to be able to send to Alexa the text string “play the beatles”.  Either an XTension plugin or a language API (for Applescript/Java/Python) will work for me.

Note:  I don’t want to create a new Alexa skill; there is plenty of software for that.
