dying interface

Speaking of dying interfaces….

I miss the CM15A. It was pretty reliable at receiving all my 433mhz signals and a good second option should my RFX miss the signal. Now I don’t have a backup. I am stuck and having to make a choice between the newest version of X10 and an older version that handles the CM15a.

In the last year I also had several interfaces die, or no longer communicate with XTenison. And neither of those units are replaceable (the RFX or the W800). It was always assumed that these interfaces would be available for some time but t that was a false assumption. What I should have done is to buy a backup interface.

In my box off goodies I have backup cables, a backup Mac mini (that is pretty old now) and some other odds and ends. But no backup interfaces. If one of my interfaces dies I am dead in the water. I was lucky enough to get one of the newest versions of the RFX but it appears that this was a few that were made for whatever reason. RFX has not been making units for over a year. I will be replacing my SDR unit that is highly unreliable and for the most part worthless and waste of money.

Having option is always good which is why I miss the CM15a.
