Configuring RPi GPIO pins

Good morning.

It is not explicitly stated in the wiki whether or not XT sends pin configuration parameters to the RPi, based on the settings in the XT unit. If XT does set the RPi pin configuration, when does that occur? Or are the pin configurations set be me directly in the Pi before I create the unit in XT?

I am specifically interested in using some pins for PWM (to drive typical automobile/RV LED fixtures). I have some FET modules ready to deploy.
