Somehow, I figured it out by chance.
> Our local supermarket (Lidl) sold dirt cheap Zigbee motion sensors ($10).
> Being wary about compatibility, I bought one to experiment with my so-far-idle-Hubitat.

Now the devices were paired, but not communicating, I disconnected them from the network.
This is done by pressing a paperclip-operated button for 15 seconds.
Then in the Hubitat browser window I went to the Devices, pressed the Add Device, then clicked the Zigbee button to 'Add device manually'.
Pressing the 'Start Zigbee Pairing' and pressing the paperclip-operated button for 2 seconds, showed 'already known device' with the name (hall).
Leaving the motion sensor very close to the Hubitat for about 2 minutes to let it weather.
Then I clicked the name underneath the 'already known device' in the Hubitat browser window.
The device shows up, now the 'Current States' show only •battery:100 and another minute waiting shows •motion: inactive
Also the living room motion sensor was added this way. Up until now, no new errors are showing up in the Log files.
So: add device, disconnect the device using its own button, re-add the device in Hubitat, leave it near the Hubitat for a few minutes and Bob is your uncle.
