Good evening Friends,
I will be mostly out of touch for a few more days probably until I start to get caught up. If you have applied Apple’s latest safari update to your Mac you might have noticed that the video displays in the web remotes are completely broken. The same is true for the mobile web remote. After fighting with it for several days now I have figured out what they changed, but failed to document anything even remotely related to, and a new build is in the building process now. I am going to do a hot patch to make that all work again either this evening or tomorrow morning.
Unfortunately nothing else will have changed from the last beta. I know there is a list of things that changed or broke or were not fixed or that I didn’t include that you have all sent me info about and I will most definitely be going through them and including all of them in the next release. Please understand that I am now one person doing the job of 2 who were previously doing the job of a small or maybe even medium sized company. I don’t miss Michael just because he did some of the support emails but I do miss having someone doing some of the support emails!
As is normal there will be times when I am ludicrously behind on support. As a single human there is a limit to what can be done in a single day and I still have every other responsibility like making dinner for the family and picking up children, or actually now just child since only one remains that isn’t in college! But the college one is finally able to be coming home for a whole week this summer before going back to add some summer classes to her CV! I haven’t seen her in more than a year and am very much looking forward to hanging out with my daughter for a week in the near future! Also my garage is a mess because I was building cabinets. The cabinets turned out awesome but I somehow ran out of steam when it came to fill them with all the stuff that was keeping me from pulling my car into the garage. Even though all those things were the stuff I pulled out into the garage to build the cabinet… Sigh..
In any case, if you have updated to the latest Apple safari version there will be a build that supports it tonight or tomorrow. If you are a developer and have no idea what they changed and it’s broken everything you’ve had working for the last decade (like me) drop me a line off the list and I’ll share what I have learned about it.
Thanks,
James
