What happens to our XTension set-up if I were to die?

Describe where it’s located (as most of ours are tucked away under cabinets, etc.) and then give directions as to how to change the batteries and set the code on it. I’m sure that a document that describes this process, would eventually get lost.

This is a serious thought. It's reply may well be quite hard. I suggest a modification to the question.

Instead of "how to keep on operating efficiently ?" What about:
"How to revert to not-automated operations; or decide to give a try to keep on operating efficiently the home automation system ?"

Indeed in my case, which might not be unique,
My wife may see little value in her continuation of our home automation system
Our children, being on their own, are not a maintenance option.
A third party contractor may be hard to locate or not be seen by my wife to be worth the cost and effort

My thoughts, so far.
