Good afternoon,

In the wiki regarding ‘Play Sound,” the last note states: 

Airplay and bluetooth devices are also supported though there are bugs in Apple’s airplay implementation that may make it impossible to select an air play output. Still as of OSX 10.13.4 this has not been addressed and so you may not be able to use Air Play outputs reliably.

Are those ‘bugs’ still prevalent in macOS 10.15.7 (current Catalina)? Were the bugs resolved in Big Sur?

Now with a HomePod located in the primary living area, the opportunity arises for certain routine  “announcements.” Yes, I can set the XT host's output to this speaker, even temporarily, but Play Sound (w/ output name) would be the best tool for the task (if not for the ‘bug.’)
