Very sorry to hear the news Chuck. As we have discussed previously, I
cannot picture myself having to deal with multiple suppliers to solve a
problem like this at a distance of, in my case, 2000 miles. I wish I
dared to go with Z-Wave but am quite sure that I would find it way too
frustrating going between Xtension, Vera, and Apple by remote control.
Plug-in's to Xtension are fine but the idea of additional control
hardware/hardware sources is over the top for me.
I think that it would be interesting to get James' reaction to what he
would be able to do if we each paid him an additional sum for Xtension
equal to what we pay for Vera, Vera+, Vera upgrades, maintenance etc
and, in return, he developed a version of Xtension which integrated both
X10 and Z-Wave protocols. I think that "Brand I" has accomplished that
although I have no personal awareness of how clean or successful it has
been.
Still using only X10 on Xtension .
My two cents,
Jack

I had to go back to the previous firmware and then do factory resets on all my ZW3008’s to get them to talk to the VeraPlus. It has been a major nightmare. They could not get the ZW3008 to work.

When I say HA homes I am talking about folks like us that have built complex and integrated systems that rely on many different parts to make the whole thing work.

Not only will I have a belt and suspenders, I will have extra belts and suspenders in case the original belt and suspenders fail. It was a good but painful lesson for me.
