Vera Plus update - the good and the uncertain

I upgraded and there were some changes.

Vera has an issue with creating units that do nothing. Some modules will create 3 units. One is the sensor, one is the light level and then one comes up as a "_Genaric IO". This is the case with the Jasco ZW3008 dimmer/sensor.

Other sensors have similar issues.

When I upgraded it renamed some items as “b10child" or “b12child”. I have no idea what those units were before the upgrade. But they are one unit ID higher that my GE motion sensor which is the parent to the “b12child” unit. The “child” units do NOTHING. They are just there.

I was hoping that the Vera folks would have gotten it right and combined these units into one unit. But alas they can’t seem to make that happen. Now I have 14 “_Genaric IO” units in the Vera interface. If I delete them they come fight back and Xtension keeps the original in the database but adds in (001), (002) and so on. Every now and then I just delete them all so that the (001) and so on goes away.

From what I can see the only real changes are the units the added to the install options. There are many more than there used to be. Sensors and Lights/Switches the biggest gains with pages of units instead of the few listed before.
