Smart door locks

I have 4 Kwikset Z-Wave Smart locks, including the ones that will replace
the inside knob on a regular deadbolt.

They have all worked fine.

The Vera manages the PIN codes fairly easily, where you can even limit
times when a code will work. I get email alerts when the door is unlocked
and locked.

You can unlock the door with the Vera mobile app, and with the cloud
account you can operate the lock remotely.

I discovered that the Energizer lithium AA batteries can last a year. When
you get a low battery warning, don't let it slide more than a day or two,
unless you're still carrying the key. Ask how I know this.

Note that Amazon Alexa can connect so you see the lock status and can lock,
but Amazon disables unlocking. I think the Google devices will unlock.
Xtension will handle all of the functions through the Vera.
