XT control of REX-10

Hi Michael,

I continue to be unsuccessful with this. ReX-10 has ‘learned’ via the ‘install’ process to respond to X-10 address E12 (pick any unused address). To verify the wireline transmissions, I have an Appliance Module set to E12. Using a Palm Pad, pressing E12 ON gets Rex barking and turns on the appliance module, and pressing E12 Off halts the barking and turns off the appliance module. From XTension, turning on the unit with address E12 turns on the appliance module. Rex remains silent.

This Rex is a standard X-10 Powerhouse Model ReX-10 (FCC ID B$SREX-10). The only way to assign an address to it is via the wireless method. Everything in the manual implies that Rex responds only to the X-10 wireless signal. I can find nothing that suggests that Rex can respond to wireline X-10 signals.

I had thought that the transceiver in V572RF32 transceiver meant the reception of X-10 wireless signals, but also the transmission of x-10 wireless signals, although there is nothing in the documentation that suggests that this is so.

I swapped out the appliance module for an X-10 RR501, another module that seemingly is loose with the word ‘transceiver,’ since there is no apparent RF transmission.

Hence, Michael, I am keen to know how you have come to make your Rex-10 respond to XTension-generated commands via wireline.

Thanks for bearing with me.

Brian
