I began a search for interesting uses for my Raspberry Pi and came across
this:
An IoT gateway for the Rasberry Pi that uses USB dongles to speak Z-Wave
and Zigbee, complete with features like voice commands!

That could replace or complement other Hubs like the Vera and notice that
they show control of Phillps Hue Zigbee lights! I had no idea that was even
possible unless it also just uses the API to control an existing Hue hub.
We know that XTension can talk to a Raspberry Pi with HTML so this could be
one more device interface for XT.
I bagged one of the new Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ I was all chuffed that I
found it in stock on Pi day +1 only to realize that Newark was shipping it
in weeks so mine will be shipping tomorrow.
A geek's life is full of anticipation....
