ZWave Control

We do support that for very basic functionality. Or at least other similar devices I don’t know about that one specifically it probably uses the same protocol but I don’t know if it’s USB interface shows up as a serial port or not and we need to be able to load those drivers.
Unfortunately in order to do things like door locks or other security devices and the more modern stuff that we all use so much you have to join up to the ZWave consortium which costs a lot of money and they probably wouldn’t want us anyway. The support for these interfaces is pretty basic at the moment. The Vera is far superior. Don’t let the problems people talk about with it turn you off the thing it actually works very well. The support for ZigBee devices is incomplete, but if you’re interested in ZWave then there is no good argument not to go with the Vera as the interface.
There are some open source libraries that we could wrap in a plugin. The process would be non-trivial and i’m not really sure you’d be completely happy with the results. They still have a lot of issues as far as I can tell and not everything is supported even now. Since we already have a very good ZWave interface in the form of the Vera plugin I’m not sure the time to support the ZSticks natively for an interface that would support fewer devices less well than the vera does would be a good use of our time.
There are a few people here that have problems with the Vera as far as speed, but I don’t see that here. It responds almost instantly for me. I don’t have any plugins loaded or anything other than it just serving up my ZWave network. I don’t know if it’s something else those folks have installed that is causing the problem, but if you’re seeing long delays in processing Vera commands then something is definitely not right.
As an aside the High Sierra update has doubled or tripled the latency in my commands, it just doesn’t share CPU time as well or something. It now takes 3 or 4 seconds for my garage lights to come on after opening the door and it used to be not more than 1. It’s very frustrating. If you haven’t already updated to High Sierra just don’t.
