Do you need an Armed unit in XTension for Vera security devices? (was: Re: Vera Security Units - a revelation (to me).)

I totally get why that is confusing. I considered for a time linking the block/unblock of the unit to the arm/disarm in the Vera. Perhaps these are just extra confusion and we don’t need them at all? I get a triggered event regardless of the armed/disarmed status in the Vera and I don’t want to encourage anyone to put any more logic int he vera than they have to. So maybe I should just nix those units and concentrate on the real triggered ones?

What do you guys with Vera security devices think? Are these at all useful? Or should I just remove them?

Since I put all the HA intelligence in XT, I hadn’t thought of controlling activities in Vera. All my motion sensors affect flags that serve various purposes, often dependent on other events, but with this new feature, I might find some use in getting Vera into direct action rather than having XT tell it what to do. Time will tell.
