Barix R6

Hello Hendrik,

My IO12 and R6 are connected to one of my B100s using the Modbus RS-485 interconnection. See the photos below.

The R6 relays are each SPDT, the same as the 2 relays on the B100.

To make these relays and ports useful, I had to add some Barix firmware to the host B100. That firmware is the Barionet Extension Addressing Tool.

Some explanation of this can be found starting on page 28 of the document found here:

Finding the firmware itself is a bit of a challenge. It is on a Dropbox page managed by Stefan Giessler <stefan at barix.com>. I suggest that you write to him to request access to the program files.

Below are a couple of screenshots of the relevant B100 pages. You can see that the R6 is a device type B1, and being the only one installed, it has an address range of  11 to 16. The B100 page shows the states of the relays, and of the IO12 ports.

Once all is in place, the units show up in XTension when the host B100 is rebooted.

The next screenshot is of the Master List page of XT. The host B100 for these peripherals is named BCB, and you will see here a range of addresses. Addresses 1 and 2 are the B100 relays; 11-16 the R6 relays, and the other addresses relate to the IO12 ports.  

As XT units, they can have scripts and can be controlled through scripts.
