Parlor tricks with this "Say" command

James, et all,
I have been working all day on trying to get the say command to work again properly, and I think we've discovered where the problem is.
I have, for years, used a third-party digital proper British male mature voice by Cepstrol called "Lawrence."
Evidently Lawrence doesn't like all of the new Carbon voice synthesizer API commands. If I switch to "Daniel" which is written by Apple, I cease having problems in XTension.
When I try to use the extended voice commands using Lawrence the "say" command will quit working in XTension and the only fix is to quit and relaunch.
I particularly cannot get the [[emph - or +]] or emphasis, to work. Has anybody else had this experience and can you get it to work somehow. I've tried everything and I can't.
I've been trying to contact Cepstral to confirm this and have yet to hear from them, but that's what the problem seems to be and further I can have my cake and eat it too if I break up any sentence in smaller chunks. Doing that causes Lawrence to come back to life and won't kill the "say" command... so far.
Hope this helps someone else, and thanks for the great support.
George
