AA's for mouse (and keyboard)

I take all of my dying AA’s from devices and toys (and Grandkids give me theirs) and put them in a box on a shelf by my computers.
When the Mac tells my my mouse (or keyboard) is running low, I just swap in a pair from the box and check the battery level in the BlueTooth dropdown.
Usually it is close to 100% even with batteries that wont drive a sensor or game or toy reliably anymore.
Saves a few $$.
