Is the Find command broken?

If it happens again please check a couple of things for me. The search bar there is a feature of the system I literally don’t do anything other than ask the edit field to show it and then set the search text, if any, from the global dialog but it’s possible that timing issues cause the focus to be set wrong or just confuse it, the system does confuse focus between windows sometimes I’ve definitely seen that.
When I open a script window from the global search results dialog I do see that the search field does not get focus. The focus remains in the text area of the script field and if you want to type in the search field you have to click there first. This is indicated by the fact that the search field has no focus rect drawn in blue around it. I THINK that this is the appropriate behavior for opening it from the global search window but maybe not ;) If you just hit command F with a script window already open then it looks like for me it reliably sets the focus into the search field because at this point what you want to do is type in something to search for, not show the results of what you’ve already entered in the global search dialog.
If thats all you’re seeing then thats OK though we can certainly discuss what it should do I don’t have a lot of control over it, if you’re actually seeing the search field with a focus rect in blue glow around it and yet the keystrokes are going into the script then that is definitely a bug and I’ll have to figure out why that would happen. It definitely shouldn’t do that! I’ve been messing with it this morning on some of my larger scripts and I can’t yet duplicate anything weird with it, if you can find a sequence or a weird search string or something to make it do something wrong please let me know I can fix almost anything I can duplicate.

So you’re basically typing into the script as if the search field wasn’t there?“
