Xtension worked on Mini but not on MacPro

I did install/uninstall/restart etc. Log shows expected responses, but no results. There’s no errors in the log. The MacPro is running 10.10 and the Mini was on 10.8 so perhaps OS USB is an issue. I may resort to troubleshooting the Mini vs. attempting a temporary install on the MacPro. thanks, Rob

If not you’ll need to unplug the device from the USB port, select “install USB device support” from the File menu in XTension, that will ask you for your admin password so that it can add the proper files to the system (the user you’re signed in as must have the “allow user to administer this computer” checkbox turned on or it won’t let you do this) and then when thats done plug the USB cable to the plink back in. You shouldn’t have to restart, but if it doesn’t immediately find it and start working then you should do that.

There are others that have been having a very hard time getting the USB native devices to work and I’m not sure why. Apple did some very nasty things to USB in the last couple of OS updates, but only for some people. There are lots of other things to try and to look at if it still doesn’t work after running the install. Let us know what happens.

I’m not getting any on/off my X10 switches from the MacPro with the exact setup that was working on the Mini. Any suggestions for troubleshooting? thanks, Rob
