Hi Folks,
Just a couple of notes on the use of these ‘tilting bucket’ type of Rain Gauges …
First, there is a ‘state’ of the sensor where one bucket is almost full enough to tip,
but the rain stops… Some time later, perhaps in the middle of a dry day, the bucket
gets some wind or vibration, and it ‘trips’ …
This is not a good sensor for absolute detection of Rain…
Next, when one uses the Door/Window security sensor, I have seen cases where it
was raining so hard that the D/W sensor could not keep up with the ON/OFFs …
Again, not ideal.
But given that these sensors are indeed the ‘standard’, I just deal with it :)
As to protecting the patio Bulb, what would you do if the bulb was already Hot,
and it started raining ?
