I turned it off when I upgraded to 10.11 because individual USB ports 
were going off line on a regular basis.  Particularly when I was working 
with arduinos, I would have a port go deaf and get access back by going 
to the next port on the buss.  The ports stayed dead until I restarted 
the computer.  Those problems mostly disappeared when I turned off the SIP.
