Odd scripting problem

And from cutting and pasting I am able to see the problem right away, there doesn’t seem to be a recognizable new line character between these 2 if statements. When I cut and pasted this it’s putting it on the same line and giving the error. If I put my cursor in between the end of the comment before the next if and add a return then it compiles.

The screenshot didn’t show this, the text somehow rendered properly even though applescript refused to recognize whatever was causing the line wrap as a valid line ending.

I have absolutely no idea what character you generated in there or how it could appear to wrap without applescript allowing it. I am going to try to figure it out though.
