I do not understand this statement, but would like to. My XTension machine is an Intel Mac Mini, and it runs headless. I access, from different other Macs, it using “Share Screen” without apparent issue. I do not have an HDMI plug-in/dongle. Could it be that once I set up the machine (with monitor attached), then made it headless (detached the monitor), I had set what needed to be set in order for all to work well?
I note that the Display Preferences offers me some choices; Default for display, and Scaled - with 2 choices in Scaled. It would seem that my default is 1280 x 1024. In Scaled, the choice is 1280 x 1024 and 1024 x 768. I am able to change the resolution, but note that if I select 1024 x 768 (which does work), then choose Default, the screen grows to 1280 x 1024. I have never had a reason to go to a smaller screen size.
All changes described in the paragraph above were performed through Screen Sharing.
Brian
