XTension DB Corruption Problem?

James,

Thank you for your emails, and I look forward to getting the json debugging tool.

Believe it or not, when I really did have both these Apps working simultaneously for about three days last week, our driving and walking experience ALWAYS had one App or the other trip in and out, and at least 50% of the time both Apps responded in both states.

In that three days I would conservatively say that we tested it about 50 times, so I WAS very encouraged that I’d stumbled upon a solution, until everything went dark over the weekend.

Until I can get both Apps working again, on both phones, will I have the ability to test again, but it sure looked like it was going to work.

Neither of the developers suggested or have even commented about trying to doing what I’m trying to do, but until I get it working again so I can hammer on it to confirm what I can expect, I’m not giving up after the successful three day tests last week. I theoretically agree with you that it should have the same inconsistent results.

I’m glad to know that conceptually there’s nothing wrong with trying, and that there are even simpler ways. I set it up this way so the log can tell me precisely which of the two Apps, if any, tripped. I also recognize there is a good chance, from further testing, that neither App will trip. That’s when I start looking for another plan B. :-)

Thanks,

George

That should be no problem, but it will have to be on a different port and you’ll have to pass that other port through to XTension through the router and you’ll have that different port number setup properly in the 2 configurations in the 2 different apps.

Though I’ve not actually developed against this API from apple I’ve read the docs. There just isn’t much work on the part of the individual app to go wrong. It will be the same system table of geofences that the OS is walking down to service when it wants to. And if it doesn’t do that, then it wont work for both apps rather than just one or the other. I’m not certain of course and if the developers of the apps say differently then perhaps there is. But if one failed I would expect the other to fail too.
