Lost my Omnistat Thermostats

couple of things could be happening. Long serial lines can take induction hits from nearby lightening strikes and make the serial drivers in the adaptors give up the ghost after a while. I've got 2 outputs on a multi device that last year lost the ability to work long distance, but will work fine if the device is plugged directly into them.

You could also just check the wires and clean the connections in them, especially if it's something that has gotten worse slowly.

Lastly are you inserting 5v on the DTR line to power their line isolators? Check that connection too. In my system I added this as an afterthought with nothing more than an alligator clip and it slipped off once.

The Omnistats I have are just excellent devices. THey aren't the fanciest and having that strange table for calculating temperatures means that when it says 73 on the stat it's really 72.87 or something in XTension, but still they are great devices. Try and bang on them some!

Before this I lost the updating of the clocks on the thermostats, then I lost the ack from the thermostats. Are they just dead? They function fine from the thermostats themselves, and all the settings for remote control are correct but they are not seen.
