Okay I have a question do any of you guys up to have 3-D printers. I just
picked up the Makerbot Replicator the fifth GEN trying decide if I want to
keep it or build my own a Mendelmax 2, decisions decisions any help would
be great. This is my thinking this so far the makerbot seems to work pretty
good but for the $3000 price tag I believe it should work a lot better.
I feel that the Mendelmax2 with a kit price of $1700 would probably print
about the same from what I'm reading online. I was under the impression
that the maker bot had worked out a lot of the kinks but the more read it
looks like Makerbot brings out a device and supports for about a good year
and then moves on to a newer device so I don't want to get left with the
proprietary system that I can't do any tweaking on in that's the case I'd
rather have a unit that starts out as a kit or building from scratch.

Thanks,
Jeff Wooding
