alpha to fix suntime problems

the new view not working is not a surprise. Unfortunately views are going to have to start from scratch in this version and aren't in there at all yet. But the others I'll add to my list of debugging checks. I already have on the list that the log window doesn't remember it's visible state but haven't seen any other reports of the other problems. This is why it's good to test alphas for me even if you dont end up using it, at least I know there's a problem I wouldn't have otherwise :)
