"App Nap" and Xtension Responsiveness

I am running XTension on Mini with Mavericks.
Only other intensive app is Parallels running Scottrade Elite Stock Application.
CPU total usage rarely exceeds 5% used.
XTension (when NOT in foreground) seems to queue up incoming events from my 5 interfaces.
(4 CM11A and 1 W800, all on WizNet IP<->Serial cards).
Often the events sit there for anywhere from 5 to100 seconds before popping out.
My “instantaneous” driveway sensor now announces me after I am in the house and have my coat off :-(
Watching XTension in “Activity Monitor” shows it usually using 0.0% cpu, 11 threads, and 0 “Idle Wake Ups”.
So I may have found the answer……….
I did “Get Info” on XTension app and disabled “App Nap”.
Now I get 1.0% cpu, 11 or 12 threads, and between 8->15 “Idle Wake Ups”, routinely. Never Zero cpu.
I stays that way even if XTension is “Hidden”.
…. and i THINK I get much less queueing of events. Will have to pay attention for a while to know for sure.
Make sense?
Tom
