George... the universe of your home and automation system has just been changed.
Somewhat similar to changing Planck's Constant ...

You need to completely forget every anomaly that ever occurred, and your assumptions.

I would simply observe behavior for several weeks... thru rain, drought and dump trucks.
Meanwhile think about all those scripts and workarounds that you may not need now.
Worry about the true nature of grounds when you know you're stable.
