I just called KCP&L and they will be here this afternoon!
As a further indication that I do have a poor ground, I can report that when our AC goes on, some lighting circuits will blink. I'd seen this for years here, but drew no connection.
For the record, I'm not trying to blame or point my finger at XTension or any place else… yet. I've had a stable system for 2.5 years, (Thanks to you, James and many members of the List) and I need to get it back. I have merely looked at all the things I have changed in the last few months from a new OS, new electrical devices installed, and of course XTension when I find that either relaunching XTension or it's Mini running ML, and it straightens things out… at least for the moment, I get the feeling there is some connection.
This poor ground thing is now top of my list to eliminate as a cause. If KCP&L says my ground is fine, I'm back to square one. :-(
